The custom bar is a major focus of the interior at The Peanut. The newest location for The Peanut is now open in Mission. The Peanut has completely renovated the space in Mission Mart formerly occupied by The Clarette Club on the Martway side of the shopping center.Managing partners Brent Sierks and David Cea said they had been looking for a site for the next Peanut in the area for about one year before the property in Mission came on the market. They, along with three other partners, have The Peanut locations on the Kansas side of the metro, including Metcalf and 127th and 7938 Santa Fe.Cea lives in Roeland Park, only a few blocks from the new Mission location. The interior renovation features a custom long wooden bar dominating the length of the space. The Peanut seats 189 and an outdoor patio space will be coming later this year. Twenty-eight televisions are prominently placed around the restaurant and bar.“We want it to be a neighborhood restaurant and tavern,” Cea said. Sierks added that they will try to cater to everyone’s needs and adapt the menu to fit demand. “We welcome families with open arms,” he said. The menu starts with the offerings of the original Peanut – known for wings and BLTs – and expands from there to meet what the neighborhood wants. Starting out, the menu will match the other Kansas locations. It has 30 beers on tap with many craft beers available. The Peanut just opened its doors on Monday. It will be open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Brunch will be available 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the weekends. The Peanut also has locations in downtown Kansas City, on Main Street and in Lee’s Summit. The Peanut is along Martway across from Mission Bowl.
