first_img 17 Views   no discussions LocalNews Dominica to participate in OECS Communications Workshop by: – October 8, 2013 Labour Commissioner, Matthew Leblanc is part of the six-member delegationA six-person delegation of public and private sector representatives left Dominica today to participate in an OECS Integration Spokespersons Workshop in Grenada. The delegates are; Labour Commissioner Mathew Leblanc, Miranda Ackie of the CSME Facilitation Unit, Kelly Ann Williams of the Discover Dominica Authority, Hilda Kelshall of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce, Claudia Walter of the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit and Nadège Roach of the National Youth Council.The Workshop, organised by the OECS Secretariat, is scheduled for 9th-11th October, and will focus on an array of communications topics including:understanding the media, fundamentals of communication, and the art of public speaking.Ambassador to the OECS and Caricom, Felix Gregoire in endorsing Dominica’s participation stated, “It is important that we have a cadre of spokespersons capable of articulating the advantages of regional integration in a clear and concise manner. This workshop should prove invaluable in furtherance of this objective.”Upon their return from the workshop the individuals will be better able to explain the benefits of the OECS Economic Union and regional integration in general.last_img
